I thought this was an excellent, jovial film with lots of genuine funny moments throughout and, whilst obviously targeted at the younger demographic, it still had enough to entertain older viewers too.

Now from a purely visual standpoint, this film gets a 10/10, especially during Tim’s spontaneous, psychosis like bursts of imagination.
In what is something of a new golden generation for Disney comes another remake of a classic. This time it’s Beauty and the Beast getting the live action treatment, hot on the heels of Maleficent, Cinderella and the Jungle Book. It follows pretty much the same arc as the 1991 original, but with a few choice, and mostly excellent it has to be said, additions being made to sort out some continuity issues and flesh out the story a little more.
Disney’s latest animated movie is a charming, enjoyable, oceanic-musical and fun take on Polynesian culture. Moana is the newest addition in a long line of ‘princess’ movies from the company, though the titular protagonist would protest at such aspersions against her.
There’s some cracking performances in this film. Art Parkinson does a wonderful job as Kubo, injecting some real emotional gravitas into the character to the extent where you can’t help but bond with him over the course of his journey.
