This film is basically the anti-Michael Bay version of Transformers. Sure, there are still big transforming robots that wail on each other, but this film actually has a human story and more importantly a heart, that was missing from so many of Bay’s attempts.
Miles Morales becomes the Spider-Man of his reality and meets his counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat to all reality.
The high point in this film like the first one is the singing, good voices nice picks of songs and the feel and tone is upbeat and fun. The film gets by on good will, this is not a mean spirited movie, it’s a lark.
Say what you want about Kevin Costner, he’s had huge ups and downs but he’s a good actor and he’s likeable, plus he has that every man thing down pat.
