The Exorcist: Believer, the latest installment in the legendary horror franchise, faced some initial challenges, with a lukewarm critical reception and opening box office performance below expectations.

However, despite the rocky start, the film has now crossed the $100 million milestone at the global box office, becoming the 34th movie of the year to achieve this feat. This places ‘Believer’ ahead of other 2023 horror titles like ‘Talk To Me,’ ‘Saw X,’ and ‘The Boogeyman.’

What’s more, the film is not only faring well commercially but is also sitting in the middle of the Rotten Tomatoes ranking for Exorcist sequels, surpassing previous entries in the franchise. This achievement bodes well for the upcoming sequel, ‘The Exorcist: Deceiver,’ slated for a 2025 release.

With its production budget recouped and a promising upward trajectory, the Exorcist legacy appears to be in resurgence.
