Ranbir Kapoor Identifies His Top Three Favorite Films of the Year: Describes Them as ‘Very Inspiring

In the midst of promoting his upcoming film, Animal, Ranbir Kapoor expressed his admiration for the South Indian film industry during a promotional tour in Chennai and Bengaluru. He specifically highlighted three Tamil films as his favourites from the past year and a half, emphasising his respect for the dynamic cinema emanating from the region.

Speaking at a press meet in Chennai, Kapoor conveyed, “It’s great to be back in Chennai. I want to congratulate you on an amazing year in the Indian film industry. I think three of my favourite films made in India in the last one-and-a-half-years have been from the Tamil film industry. These are Jailer, Leo, and Vikram. So congratulations on that.”

Acknowledging the fervent fanbase and impactful entry of stars in South cinema, the Animal actor found inspiration in the passionate reception for leading figures. He remarked, “Looking at the craze for the heroes and heroines, I think it is very inspiring to watch. As an actor, you aspire for that, and when you see Rajini sir’s entry, or Thalapathy Vijay, or all the great stars like Kamal Haasan sir, or Ajith sir. You see that their audience, their fans just love them so much, and I believe that is just very inspiring to watch.”

Transitioning to discussions about his forthcoming film, Animal, Kapoor highlighted director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s efforts to craft a movie with pan-Indian appeal. He stated, “Sandeep and the entire team have worked really hard in the dubbing of the film to make it seem like a film that the Tamil speaking audience will enjoy. So, you don’t have to make a remake of this film. See this film as an original.”

Animal, featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, and Prem Chopra in pivotal roles, is set to release in theatres on December 1, marking a clash with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur.
