Thalapathy Vijay continues to dominate the box office, breaking records with his latest release, The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT). Directed by Venkat Prabhu, this highly anticipated spy action thriller opened to a record-breaking response and sustained strong numbers throughout its extended four-day opening weekend, amassing a staggering ₹288 crore globally.

Early estimates indicate that GOAT brought in an additional ₹20 crore on its fifth day, pushing its total worldwide earnings to approximately ₹308 crore.

With this, GOAT not only hit the milestone of ₹300 crore in just five days but also became Vijay’s third film to achieve this impressive feat. It is already his second-highest-grossing film of all time, solidifying his status as one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema.

Vijay’s highest-grossing film remains Leo (2023), directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which earned a massive ₹620 crore globally. While GOAT is expected to perform well, it is unlikely to surpass Leo at the box office.

Here’s a look at Thalapathy Vijay’s top 5 global box office grossers:

  1. Leo (2023) – ₹620 crore
  2. The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) (2024) – ₹308 crore (5-day estimate)
  3. Varisu (2023) – ₹305 crore
  4. Bigil (2019) – ₹299 crore
  5. Sarkar (2018) & Mersal (2017) – ₹260 crore each

In its home market of Tamil Nadu, GOAT has already crossed the ₹100 crore mark. However, its performance in other Indian states has been less impressive. The film’s Hindi version, which was not released in national multiplex chains, has so far earned over ₹12 crore and is expected to reach ₹25 crore during its theatrical run, potentially nearing the ₹30.18 crore earned by Leo in North India last year.

Internationally, GOAT has made a significant impact, collecting ₹130 crore in just five days at the overseas box office. Co-starring Prashanth and Prabhu Deva, the film is now expected to gross ₹400 crore by the end of its theatrical run, further solidifying Vijay’s box office reign.

Fans and industry insiders alike will be closely watching as GOAT continues its box office journey, with anticipation building around whether it will surpass Vijay’s other blockbusters.
