The Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles, with both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones receiving honours.
The Beatles won Best Rock Performance for Now and Then, a track created from a demo recorded by John Lennon before his passing. Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones took home Best Rock Album for Hackney Diamonds, their 2023 release.
These awards were presented during the Grammys’ pre-ceremony event, ahead of the main show, which began at 5 PM in Los Angeles (1 AM in London).
Accepting the award on behalf of The Beatles, Sean Ono Lennon described the band as “the greatest of all time.”
Encouraging audiences to keep their music alive, he added: “Play The Beatles’ music for your children. The world needs to remember artists like them. We need this music, we need peace and love, and we need the magic of the ’60s to endure.”
