Running time: 88 minutes
IMDB Score: 3.5
Why I watched it: It’s a horror film, and I don’t mind Rupert Evans, another one of those I feel like watching a horror movie and picking something on Netflix Canada.
Thoughts: The original title of the film was “Belly Of The Bulldog” which might sound more interesting but makes no sense story or plot wise.
What I liked: Honestly I hated this movie, I don’t do or say this very often but man this was a bad movie. So honestly I liked next to nothing, some shot were alright and the acting was fine but I didn’t like a single thing in this film. This is one of the worst movies I’ve seen in awhile.
What I didn’t like: So going off of what I said for what I liked it’s safe to say I didn’t like everything but let’s narrow it down a bit.
First off I get this is a low budget film and everyone tried but this is a mess. It makes no sense, nothing is explained, I get this is suppose to be a slow burn and slowly we’d find this out but the big problem is what we find out doesn’t make sense either. It’s safe to say this movie had it’s head up it’s own butt cause it seems like they were trying to be maybe artsy but man they failed on every level.
I get that the director wanted us to figure things out and wanted to be a mind F**k but you have to give the audience something, honestly the characters here have no character I can’t even call them cliched cause they have no personality, now maybe they were going for that but if they were it was a mistake. this film feels like they throw the script into a blender then took it out and just filled in the gaps and started filming. The other big thing is this film did not cut together. You could say they were using nightmare logic but at least that would imply it had some sort of logic. I get experimenting I get thinking outside the box but you need a story or a theme or a performance to keep it together.
Final thoughts:So yes I really disliked this film and honestly I wanted to stop watching but I kept hoping they would tie some of it together, that maybe there would be a payoff but sadly it never came and the last 15 minutes were brutal to sit through.
