The Archer (2016) Movie Review

Director: Valerie Weiss
Writer: Casey Schroen
Stars: Bailey Noble, Jeanine Mason, Bill Sage

Sent to a reform camp for assault, competitive archer Jennifer Pierce (Noble) forms a bond with a prior, Rebecca (Mason) to escape the questionable camp and return home. That’s pretty much the entire gist of it, no bells and whistles just to the point with a message to deliver in the end. The action is good, the acting is good, with a sprinkle of suspense and heart.

With so many movies logging 2½ – 3hrs standard these days, its easy to forget how good, simply, a movie at an hour half can be. Again, very straightforward, well executed story delivered with a minor twist, the inspiration for the film, The Archer is a great survival/revenge story well worth a view.

Grade: A-
