How I got into movies: I have loved movie for as long as I can remember. I remember my first cinema trip to see The Lion King and I imagine that my love for the Big Screen started there. In recent years I have had an Odeon Limitless membership and been involved with a number of local production companies so my interest became a hobby and my hobby has become a borderline obsession!
What I love about movies: Movies have always been a form of escapism for me. I have an entirely overactive imagination and so movies allow me to explore that beyond my own mind. I love reading and so many films now are adaptation rather than original screenplays and movies allow.
Favourite films: The Blind Side, Toy Story, Philadelphia, IP Man, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Omen, Star Wars, Psycho (1960), Young Frankenstein, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 12 Angry Men, Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days Later.
Favourite Actors: Tom Hanks, Donnie Yen, Sandra Bullock.
Why I started writing: I go to the cinema more frequently than would be considered. I have always liked to see what other people think about movies because I am pretty pass remarkable about films (even though I am totally aware that even the worst films out there are better than anything I could make). However, I noticed a major problem; reviews tend to be longwinded and often suck up to the directors or actors based on who is popular at the time. This really annoyed me so I started to write reviews for real people who just want to know if a movie is decent and if it is worth going to see.
Favourite Genres: Any Really, but I do have a real soft spot for Horror, Sci-Fi and Comic Book movies.
