How I got into movies: I have always been an artistic person. I began exploring world cinema as a teenager when I understood how I was missing out on an entire world of artistic expression that I felt could heighten my creative impulses. I needed to educate myself in the world of film and move below the surface of popular cinema.
What I love about movies: Art shows us how to live and teaches us how to feel. Film is the leading art-form of the twentieth century, and penetrates our hearts and minds more readily than any other artistic medium. I have come to understand more about myself and what I am about by realising what moves me and captures my imagination. I have learned all these things through cinema.
